George W Bourne House, 104 Summer St (State Route 35), Kennebunk, York County, ME
The conventional late Federal style brick house was built in 1826 for George W. Bourne, a shipbuilder at a Kennebunk River shipyard. In 1855, Bourne designed and added the elaborate Gothic Revival trim. This wooden "frosting" was designed to match a connected barn decorated in a similar manner.
