The largest of Hermann`s early houses, the Pommer-Gentner House is the only one of them to show the influence of a national style. The two-and-a-half story, brick house was built for Caroline Pommer in 1840-41. The Federal style design may have been brought from Philadelphia by Mrs. Pommer.
