Digel Block (Commercial Buildings), 218-220-222 South Main & 112 Lyon St Hannibal, Marion County, MO
A good example of the turn of the century small town commercial architecture. The vernacular form includes varied and unusual ornamentation. Digel Block is the last of the commercial buildings constructed to serve the railroad trade coming from the old Union Depot which used to be on the other side of Lyon Street. It is also one of the few remaining examples of construction by the Courtney Brothers who were major commercial building contractors from 1898 until around 1920 in Hannibal.
