Jaite Paper Mill, 1200 West Highland Rd, Sagamore Hills, Summit County, OH
The Jaite Paper Mill is the focal point of the Jaite Mill Historic District, one of the few remaining company towns in northeast Ohio. Originally built by Charles Jaite in 1905, the mill was constructed from concrete blocks manufactured on the site. Sand from the Cuyahoga River was dredged to make the blocks, which measure approximately 10 by 30 inches. Over time the original building was expanded and altered as the manufacturing grew and its technology changed.
