National Register of Historic Places - Roseau County Courthouse
Statement of Significance: The Roseau County Courthouse is significant for its association with the development of county government. The county was established in 1894, with the county seat located at Roseau in 1895. In 1913 the county voters authorized the construction of a new building to provide adequate space for the then Inadequate County facilities. Plans for the building were submitted by the Bemidji firm of Thomas Johnson and the Duluth firm of Lignell and Loebeck; the award went to the Duluth firm. Completed in 1914, the modest courthouse building has continued to provide space for county offices through the present day.
