Although not 50 years old, the building is an excellent example of the Moderne/Art Deco style utilized in the design of a moderately sized house. The Moderne style was rare in Des Moines only approximately twenty (20) houses were built in this style throughout the city. Kraetsch and Kraetsch was the most important architectural firm relative to this particular style of residence.
