My Childhood Home

My parents purchased this house from The Church of St. Margaret Mary's across the street in either 1963 or 4. It was a Sears built home in 1946, and I actually have the original blue prints. There were 9 of us children living there. (13 in total.. we're a "Yours, Mine and Ours family) my brother Jerry being the last one born in 1967. We had a pretty great, and privileged childhood. Most of us kids went to the school across the street, and we were taught by the Franciscan Nuns from Rochester, MN. My Mom sold the house in 1987. I know we have some photos of the house (inside and out) between a few of us kids. I know the house was recently on the market and sold for $340,000.00. My Mom sold it in 1987 for $80,000.00. I can't remember what my folks paid for the house, but it was probably cheaper than I paid for my last car. I know my folks put in storage cupboards/closets in the room behind the fireplace downstairs. This room also had a pool table and the walkout was also located in this room. Above the steps going outside held our storm windows. My folks also added a wall in the fireplace room where my three older brothers slept. There was a 1/2 bathroom downstairs (toilet and sink) across from the laundry room. My Mom did A LOT OF LAUNDRY! My Dad was part owner of a grocery store in North Mlps. It had a wholesale meat market, and we all ate very well. My folks liked to entertain, and anyone who walked through our doors were welcomed and usually fed. I don't think anyone ever walked away hungry from our house. I know my siblings have many more awesome stories to tell.
