St. Ignatius Church is an excellent example of a rural/suburban Queen Anne Shingle-style church, the only one of its kind in Prince George`s County. The church, founded in 1849, is the second oldest Roman Catholic Church in the southwestern region of the county. The current structure, built in 1890-91, replaces the original 1849 church.
