Kaatz Icehouse, 255 Whitney Ave Trumbull, Fairfield County, CT
The Kaatz Icehouse was the last large commercial icehouse in Connecticut (possibly on the East Coast) before demolition in May of 1978. Although constructed totally in the twentieth century (initial section in 1908), the Icehouse was one of the earliest industrial building in Trumbull, which remained basically a rural community until 1914.
