National Register of Historic Places - Simon Weldele House (Charles Motzko House)
Statement of Significance: The Weldele House is significant architectural element in Delano's streetscape. The House is a well preserved two and half story, wood frame residence, executed in a restrained Queen Anne style. The building was constructed in 1893 and was the first residence in Delano to have a hot water heating plant. Simon Weldele was born in Buffalo township, Wright County in 1860 and moved to Delano to establish a saloon in the railroad village in 1884. Weldele was ' noted as an active person in both community and church affairs. The Weldele House is one of the few architecturally significant houses remaining in the Delano streetscape and is a well-preserved example of the simple Queen Anne style houses built in this county's communities.
