Then and Now at 35 8th Street South
Once upon a time, this exact spot was home to a stately residence built in 1874. More than a century later, that house is long gone, replaced by the urban streetscape of downtown Minneapolis. The contrast captures just how much one place can transform over time. In the original photograph of the home, several people can be seen standing on the front porch. They could never have imagined that the house would one day be torn down and replaced by the downtown streetscape seen here today.
