5140 Aldrich Ave S, Minneapolis, MN, USA

5140 Aldrich Ave S Home History S. B. Appleton, 1924 This Spanish-Moorish confection is one of the most charming Period Revival houses in Minneapolis. It features elaborate arabesque ornament enflaming the front door, an exceptionally tall and narrow bay window beneath a fanciful copper half dome, and an arcaded side porch with twisted columns. Like so much Period Revival architecture, the house conveys a sense of the theatrical and the fantastic, and on a much larger scale you could indeed imagine it as a movie palace, which would be known, of course, as the Alhambra. Citation: Millett, Larry. AIA Guide to the Minneapolis Lake District. Minnesota Historical Society Press, 2009.
