5421 France Ave S, Minneapolis, MN, USA

5421 France Ave S Home History Ralph Rapson, 1956 Located a half block outside the Minneapolis city limits in Edina, this church in the round (actually, it's an octagon) is one of Rapson's typically energetic works, featuring steep gables with triangular windows that burst out from their base like flower petals. Inside, a star- shaped ceiling focuses the worship space above a central altar. Most new churches these days are far more tame-and far less interesting-than what Rapson produced here. Citation: Millett, Larry. AIA Guide to the Minneapolis Lake District. Minnesota Historical Society Press, 2009.
