Growing up

This was the house I grew up in. I have memories of playing hide and seek in the laundry chute, building a tree fort in the back yard, and playing on the playscape my dad made. The house has always been gray with black shutters. It used to have light brown vinyl flooring in the kitchen until tile was put it in. The wood floor and granite countertops were added in the 2000’s. At one point my dad and my brother were going to finish the basement but stopped midway through, not sure why. It was always fun to see all of the wildlife in the backyard. In the late 1980s there was still a barn on the corner of 55th street and hwy 52 but it was removed when they overpass was put in and then walmart was built. My parents had built this house for their growing family. My dad built the deck himself and planted many of the trees.
