Last house built by Ellen D Carlson
Ellen D Carlson built this house as rental income for when she would retire. The renter of the home, married with children, cost her money. Rent check bounced, damage to house, court proceedings all while battling ALS and losing ability to speak. She had no problem speaking up for herself, albeit the physical inability later on. She sold the house. .

My great grandmothers last house she built
My great grandmother, Ellen Dorothea Carlson, (1895-1964) was a home builder in Mpls . She immigrated from Sweden, married a man that built homes (Gust Carlson), and she took over his business when he died. She built close to streetcar lines, my mother, and her 3 sisters lived in many of them. This one was the last house she built. Still plaster walls. She had wished someone in the family would buy it. My parents were newly married and couldn’t afford it. She built very solid homes, many are still standing today.
