Completed in 1928, the 17-story block is just over 200-feet tall and was designed by the architectural firm Cross & Cross in conjunction with the architect Rosario Candella. Among its more celebrated residents include the former Lady Ribblesdale (formerly Mrs Astor); Jesse Strauss, co-owner of Macy's and U.S. Ambassador to France; and, Peter S. Krauss, Chairman & CEO of AllianceBernstein who bought his apartment for $37 million from another former Ambassador.
