Hildene
Completed in 1905, for Robert Todd Lincoln (1843-1926) and his wife, Mary Eunice Harlan (1846-1037). Robert was the only surviving son of President Lincoln. Hildene remained in the Lincoln family until the death in 1975 of the President's last descendant (Robert's grand-daughter), Peggy Beckwith (1898-1975). Today the house and 412-acre estate is operated by the Friends of Hildene and is open to the public.
