Since its construction the building has housed a variety of enterprises. It first contained a syrup refinery and candy manufactory. The Mitchell Hosiery Mill occupied the structure between 1920 and 1929. In 1944 the Sol Loeb Company, then grocers to Columbus for nearly a century, took over the 2-story brick building, and still employ it as a warehouse.
