Completed in 1925, by the firm of Warren & Wetmore - Warren's sister lived at the mansion that stills stands at 1048 Fifth Avenue. 1020 is without doubt one of the most prized of the pre-war co-op buildings in Manhattan. Divided into 13 apartments, six of the apartments have Drawing Rooms with ceilings reaching up to 18-feet in height! The original price for the eleventh floor apartment was $120,000; in 2002, the same apartment was sold for $23.5 million. Among its more notable occupants were Frances Ellen Work, the great-grandmother of Diana, Princess of Wales.
