Carter House, 1140 Columbia Ave Franklin, Williamson County, TN
A noteworthy example of fine architectural detail in smaller Tennessee houses of the 1825-1850 period. Built in 1830 it figured prominently in the Battle of Franklin, November 30, 1864 when it was on the Union line of defense, receiving the brunt of the Confederate charge.
