St Paul`s Episcopal Church, 120 East J St Benicia, Solano County, CA

St. Paul`s Episcopal Church and Parish Hall constitutes a harmonious mid-nineteenth century ecclesiastical ensemble despite the varying dates of construction and extensive alterations made over the years. The exterior of the complex is a good example of the frame Gothic Revival design. The wood-paneled interior appears to be largely a product of the 1880s. / St. Paul`s Church with its adjoining parish hall constitute a harmonious mid-nineteenth century ecclesiastical ensemble despite the varying dates of construction and extensive alterations made over the years. The church was originally built in 1859. At that time it was apparently a simple rectangular hall with a very small chancel. The building was altered and enlarged in several campaigns in the 1860;s and 1870`s but always in the same style, and the Sunday school was built in 1881. The exterior of the complex is a good example of frame Gothic Revival design. The wood paneled interior, however, appears to be a product of the 1880`s.
