The Casanave Building is a classic and now-rare example of the kind of large, red-brick commercial buildings that dominated the downtown streetscape in the late 19th century. Described in 1892 as "one of the largest and most handsome brick business blocks in Altoona," the four-story rectangular building features a virtually unaltered interior, with a stage in the fourth-floor hall.
