The cold storage warehouse was one of the first of its type in Providence, R.I. It originally utilized the latest technology in insulation, generation of electricity and refrigeration, and still functions as a cold storage warehouse. It retains a rare and exceptionally well-preserved example of a Corliss steam engine.
