Don Manuel Solana House, 20 Charlotte St Saint Augustine, St Johns County, FL
This house cannot be clearly dated nor can its original owner be determined beyond question. In 1788, the lot was described as belonging to Manuel Solana but the house was of wood. Manuel Solana lived until 1821 and is reported to have become a wealthy and important man in the community. It is therefore quite likely he built the house sometime after 1788. Every clue seems to point to a date within the 2nd Spanish Period (1783-1821).
