2218 West Lake of the Isles Parkway Home History Harry Jones, 1915 Among the biggest mansions on the lake, this brick Renaissance Revival palace includes a splendid second-floor terrace that extends for almost the entire length of the house. It was built on a suit- ably grand scale for Emery Mapes, a founder of the Cream of Wheat Co. in 1893. Mapes devised advertising campaigns that made the cereal-milled from coarse wheat middling's-into a national brand. Cream of Wheat continued to be made in Minneapolis until 2002.
