Giffen Mine, 3 Miles Southwest of Stockett (Sec. 14,22,23 T18N R4E), Stockett, Cascade County, MT
The mine was one of the region`s largest and most productive coal mines. It was also one of the last of the large commercial mines to close. During the 17 years it was in production, it was in production, it was an important source of fuel for the Great Northern Railroad.
