Waltham Watch Company, 221-257 Crescent St Waltham, Middlesex County, MA

To escape the dust and vibration harmful to precision manufacturing, Aaron Dennison moved his watch company from Boston to Waltham in 1854. It was the first civilian industry to introduce the use of interchangeable parts. Its establishment in Waltham spurred the development of many other watch-making and watch-tool firms in the Waltham area.
