3332 Hennepin Ave, Minneapolis, MN, USA

3332 Hennepin Ave Home History Liebenberg and Kaplan, 1961 The architectural equivalent of a loud sport coat-the kind, say, a car salesman might have worn in the old days of tail fins and V-8s. High-toned 1960s modernists of the less-is-more school must have been appalled by the building's multicolored brick façade, which also offers gaudy grill-like panels made from patterned concrete blocks. But if you are sensible enough to enjoy the sweet aroma of kitsch when it wafts your way, then you will adore this building, designed by theater architects who knew how to put on a good show. Citation: Millett, Larry. AIA Guide to the Minneapolis Lake District. Minnesota Historical Society Press, 2009.
