4649 York Ave S Home History Carl B. Stravs, 1929 This cubic, shingle-clad house built by and for architect Carl Stravs doesn't jump out at you but does offer one unusual feature: an angular split window that follows the line of the staircase inside. It's similar to a window at the Phi Gamma Delta fraternity house Stravs designed at the University of Minnesota in 1911. Citation: Millett, Larry. AIA Guide to the Minneapolis Lake District. Minnesota Historical Society Press, 2009.
