Born: March 12, 1831, Pinetown, PA Died: November 27, 1901, South Bend, IN George Studebaker and his wife Ada Lantz declare Bankruptcy, and abandon Tippecanoe Place. The furnishings and belongings of the estate are auctioned to pay off debt, and the mansion is put on the market for sale. Image is of George During World War II - through 1946 - the property is commissioned and used by the Red Cross Society. The home has served as a restaurant since 1980.
