Original Owner: Ayer, Caleb R. This was the home of Caleb Ayer - former Senator from approximately 1852 through 1886. He was also the Secretary of State of Maine in 1856. The house was expanded around 1855 - adding the larger Greek Revival section to the original Cap Cod home from the 1830s.
