This house is significant as a late but virtually unaltered example of Greek Revival architecture, one that demonstrates the persistence of elements of the style even as it was being supplanted by more densely embellished Victorian modes. The house exhibits the pilaster-and-lintel entry treatment and rectangular gable window characteristic of the style, but it lacks the full or partial cornice return found in earlier Greek Revival houses. The house is notable for retaining its original clapboard siding, six-pane sash, oak floors, plaster walls and ceilings, paneled doors, window and doorway moldings, and simple Greek Revival mantel.
