National Register of Historic Places - Lew A. Huntoon House (Concordia College President's House)

Statement of Significance: The Huntoon House is significant for its association with Moorhead's higher education institutions and for its architectural style and integrity. The house is a link between Concordia College and Moorhead State University. The house was built in 1910 for Lew A, Huntoon, resident director of the then Moorhead State Normal School. Concordia College later bought the property (it sits on the block just north of Concordia's Old Main), and the house serves as the home of the college president. It is the only English Cottage style building in Clay County and is stylistically outstanding among the residences of Moorhead.
