Union Block, 710-720 West Idaho St Boise, Ada County, ID

The Union Block was built for a syndiact composed of some of the most prominent turn-of-the-century personalities in Boise, headed by Mayor Moses Alexander and Fort Boise Commandant General John Green. It was designed by Boise`s then dominant architectural firm of John E. Tourtellotte & Company. The Union Block`s facade, a noteworthy part of the downtown Boise Streetscape, was rendered in native sandstone from the nationally known Tablerock quarry nearby. The unique second story window and parapet design is particularly noteworthy.
