1858 Map of Frederick County
The area that is now called the Eastview subdivision was once near a small town called Shookstown in the 1850s. The Eastview neighborhood did not yet exist. Using the map for guidance, the property would have been situated roughly in between the “S” of Shookstown and D. Ellis’s farm. Shookstown was named after the Shook family who resided in the area. This town was incorporated into Frederick sometime in the 1950s or 1960s when the growth of new subdivisions in Frederick annexed small towns outside of the city.
