Adee Boathouse, 74 Forbes Ave (U.S Route 1), New Haven, New Haven County, CT
Of unique architectural quality, the boathouse with its stepped end gables is a distinctive feature of the New Haven waterfront from an earlier, less industrialized period. Designated a landmark by the New Haven Preservation Trust, the red brick, sandstone, and terra cotta boathouse reflects a collegiate architectural design preference of the early twentieth century. Extant Yale University decorative elements on two facades continue to connect the structure with its original function as a rowing center for the main university campus.
