The building of 997 Cherokee Ave.
I was able to track down daughter-in-law of our home’s original owners. She sent me photos of the home being built in the mid 1940s. The original owner, Louis Rosas, was a self-taught stone mason and did all the stonework himself. He worked on many homes in the neighborhood as well as the St. Paul Hotel.

The family of previous owner, Constance May, found these architectural watercolor renderings of the home in the attic. There were elements from each chosen for the final build. Signed by architect M. Gronad.
