Elmwood

"Elmwood" was designed by architect Harry Wild Jones in 1887. It was named in honor of the Oliver-Gerry-Lowell House in Cambridge Mass. Jones lived in the house with his family until his death in 1935. His wife sold the house in 1937. Elmwood was the first non-farming house in the Washburn Park (nee Tangletown) neighborhood. Jones designed many homes in the neighborhood including the Washburn Water Tower in 1932. ("Harry Wild Jones, American Architect", 2008, E. Vandam)
