Cary Grant's Former Santa Monica Beach House Is for Sale for $12 Million

Cary Grant's Former Santa Monica Beach House Is for Sale for $12 Million Princess Grace of Monaco, Howard Hughes, and Irving Berlin all reportedly stayed at the property. The compound sits directly on Santa Monica Beach. The 5,530-square-foot main house was built in 1930 for silent film actress Norma Talmadge. The motor court has a four-car garage and a private gate leading to a courtyard. The back garden includes a heated swimming pool and a paddle tennis/pickleball court. Grant and his friend, actor Randolph Scott, reportedly purchased the house in the 1930s. When Grant married Woolworth heiress Barbara Hutton in 1942, she moved into the house, too. The current owner preserved many of the home's original details, but removed the barbed wire on the top of the fence that Hughes had installed. There are Pacific Ocean views from many of the rooms. The large master bedroom suite has ocean views, along with a sitting area, office, dressing areas, and two bathrooms with original tiles. Four additional second-story bedrooms include staff quarters with a separate entrance. For $11.995 million, it could be yours.
