This commercial structure was designed in 1909 by the Denver architectural firm, Biscoe & Hewitt for the Brecht Butcher Supply Co. of Kansas City, MO. The structure was leased to the Autsin Candy Company, and Denver concern founded in the 1890. The Austin Candy Company failed in 1916 and was subsequently purchased by Gustavius A. Von Brecht, owner of Brecht Butcher Supply Company. The Brecht Candy Company operated in the structure until 1952.
