Mason`s Hall, 1805 East Franklin St Richmond, Independent City, VA

The cornerstone for the Mason`s Hall was laid in 1785 and the cubic building was completed by 1787. The geometric form of the building is broken slightly by the pedimented central pavilion and columned entrance porch. An octagonal cupola rises from the roof line, crosetted lintels wrap the second-floor windows while pronounced lintels distinguish the first-floor fenestration. The Mason`s Hall is two stories over a basement and the interior of the building references the iconography of the masonic order. The Richmond Randolph Lodge occupies the building; the lodge was named in honor of Edmund Randolph.
