Statement of Significance: Constructed of local stone by Charles F. Lummis, author, editor, poet, athlete, archeologist, etc. In years past this building was probably the objective of more famous people than any other home in Southern California. While living here Lummis wrote and lectured extensively on the great southwest. He founded the California History and Landmarks Club, and the Southwest Museum.
