Grand Italian Villa in the Hollywood Dell

This grand Italian-style villa was built in 1923 making it one of the very first homes to line the Hollywood Hills enclave of the Hollywood Dell. Set high above other homes in the area on a large 1/3 acre lot with extraordinary views that offer a near panorama of the canyon. Neighborhood rumor has it that it was once lived in by Pola Negri and Rudolph Valentino and was also briefly owned by the Getty Family at one point. This palatial villa retreat is just a stone’s throw from the Hollywood Reservoir and the Hollywood Bowl. Set behind gates, this expansive compound is surrounded by lush hedges and greenery, which offers its residents total privacy. The park-like grounds come complete with rolling lawns, multiple fountains, fruit trees, a spa, and a number of intriguing statues and sculptures including this pair of courtly lions. The home features a two-story living room with a fireplace, high ceilings, an intricately wrought iron railing, and a large picture window that overlooks the commanding exterior staircase and grassy gardens below. The gourmet chef’s kitchen has top-of-the-line stainless steel appliances, two sinks, marble countertops, a large center island, two dishwashers, handmade custom cabinetry, and a walk-in pantry.
