232 Lackawanna Avenue is one of a row of late 19th and early 20th century commercial buildings that made up the heart of Scranton`s business district during the city`s greatest period of prosperity. The building is one of the few on the street that retains its mid-19th century appearance, most of the district having been rebuilt later.
