2900 Thomas Ave S, Minneapolis, MN, USA

2900 Thomas Ave S Home History KKE Architects, 1999 This 12-story apartment complex is located just to the east of the Vintage Apartments. It's an ex- ample of what might be called the Beau Brummel Style: an architectural dandy that offers plenty of flash but that's clad in such thin material you have to wonder how long it will be before it begins to look threadbare. LOST 1 The north shore of Lake Calhoun was once the site of a large bathhouse. Built in 1912, it was a Spanish-Moorish concoction with a twin-towered central pavilion flanked by large changing rooms. These were open to the sky, thereby affording residents who moved into the upper floors of the Calhoun Beach Club an interesting view. It didn't last for long: four years after the club opened in 1946, the bath- house was demolished, and no trace of it remains today. Citation: Millett, Larry. AIA Guide to the Minneapolis Lake District. Minnesota Historical Society Press, 2009.
