3400 Dupont Ave S Home History Liebenberg and Kaplan, 1927/ additions, Liebenberg and Kaplan, 1954 and later This stately Renaissance Revival- style building was constructed for Adath Jeshurun, founded in 1884 by immigrants from Eastern Europe and said to be the oldest Conservative Jewish congregation west of Chicago. As built, the synagogue could seat 1,200 for services and included a theater and classrooms. Adath Jeshururl moved to a new synagogue in suburban Minnetonka in the early 1990s and sold this building to the First Universalist Church. Citation: Millett, Larry.
