401 Baltimore Street, Gettysburg, PA, USA

Original Owner: John F. McFarlane On Saturday November 19, 1863, President Abraham Lincoln passed by the Farnsworth House on his way to deliver his Gettysburg address. This scene was captured in this undated painting hanging in the historically decorated dining room of Farnsworth House. Multiple women and children pose in front of the home in the late 19th century. Confederate soldiers took up residence in the Farnsworth house during the Battle of Gettysburg. A Confederate sniper took aim at Union soldiers from the upper attic window. More than 100 bullet holes can be seen in the exterior brick of the home to this day. This is a photo we took when se stayed there in the Fall of 2016.
