4637 East Lake Harriet Parkway Home History Albert Van Dyck, 1923 / enlarged and remodeled, ca. 1990s The smooth stucco surfaces, blocky massing, and generally sparse ornament of the Spanish Revival houses of the 1920s often gave them a protomodern appearance. That's the case here, where a modern-era addition blends in beautifully with the original portion of the house. The property is adorned with several sculptures, including globes mounted on red pedestals next to steps at the sidewalk. Citation: Millett, Larry. AIA Guide to the Minneapolis Lake District. Minnesota Historical Society Press, 2009.
