The Convent of Mary Immaculate is the oldest educational institution in Southern Florida. The school opened in 1869 and has been located in the present building since 1875. The building is an excellent example of late nineteenth century architecture designed for religious purposes and serving both the living needs of its occupants and the educational needs of the larger community.
