Childhood Home

We moved into this house in 1968. I was in preschool at the time. I went to Woodlake for elementary school. It was a great house to live in, one of my favorite houses. There was an indoor grill in the red shag carpeted family room addition to the house, and a screened in porch off of that room. My dad and his brother finished the basement, and my brother's room was down there. My room was the first room upstairs with the dormers. The carpet was white shag and it had flowered wallpaper. One year, the roof leaked into the window in the add on den (we didn't add the den) because the ice was so thick on the roof, that my dad had to chisel it off. We had a short, redwood fence around the back yard where our German shepherd, Lady, could run. There is a pool in the yard now. We moved to Illinois in 1970.
